About Me

My name is Bethany Randall. I graduated high school in the spring of 2019, and now I am figuring out how to "life". I live in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the most lovable while also being the most detestable place in the states. I am a biblical christian following God's plan for my life. If only I could figure out what that was... Through high school, I was a theater kid, singer, actor, and ballroom dancer. I enjoy weightlifting, 80s music, and cooking. l have more than one handful of siblings and two great, christian parents.

For most young adults, the choice of what to do after high school is fairly simple: go to college. But what if you want to take a gap year to serve as a missionary before you jump right back into school?

I always knew I would be expected by my parents to take a year off to go on a mission. When I got into high school, I was so excited to finally be old enough to start to look for a missionary family to move to. The Shattenburg family in Madagascar seems to be the perfect fit! I connected with them, and we agreed that this was definitely God's plan for our summer together! I will be there working to homeschool their three kids and support them in any way I can!

From August 2019-March 2020, I worked with WorldVenture (the missionary organization I am working through) and the Shattenburg to hammer all the details and prepare for my trip. I got fully funded, I got my passport, I got a visa (barely!), and alllllll the airfare tickets. However, on March 15, I had only gotten to Dallas, TX before my plans were changed. COVID-19 had starting affecting everything. I turned around and headed back to Idaho Falls.

I have spent the last 6 months working here in Idaho Falls and praying for the global situation to calm to allow safe travel. While we don't know exactly when that is, I have been offered the opportunity to go finish out the school year as soon as I am able! Right now, WorldVenture is hoping to see me out sometime around November. I have begun raising more support for the extended time, so check out my support page to see the whole budget break down!

Join me on this crazy adventure to bring support, love, and the Gospel to the island of Madagascar!

About Me

I created this blog to update everyone on my journeys. I have several: the journey to move out and launch myself into society, the journey to Madagascar, Africa for the 2020-2021 school year, and the journey closer towards God through all that.
