Whew!! It feels like years ago that I was flying home from Dallas, saddened by the cancelation of my trip, and worried about how to restart the life that I had packed up for a three-month hibernation. Since then, we have all seen the ups and downs of COVID-19 as well as the BLM protests and riots. Things have been busy... but! I would like to give you a very exciting piece of news! This has been my beacon of hope through the last couple months:
I'm still going to Madagascar this fall!!
The Shattenburg family has invited me to come to the island with them for not just three months, but the whole 2020-2021 school year! I am SO excited!!We don't have a ton of details, because I had everything done for my three-month trip, there's only a couple logistics we'll have to update and get done:
1) Get a work permit (since I'll be there longer, just a visa won't be enough)
2) Do some more training in preparation
3) Re-evaluate the budget and do some more fundraising
4) Find another big suitcase
As much as it really broke my heart to go back home in March, it has been so clear that this was God's plan all along. Doing all of the preparation work on such a time crunch last time was extremely stressful, but it has been so nice to know that there are only a couple things left to tick off. I can't even tell you how over-the-moon I feel knowing that I'll finally be able to go!!
I plan to start partner development again and look for more people who are interested in investing in this incredible ministry!
Thank you all for your prayers and continued support <3 hopefully, I will have another update soon!
